Connecting Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG)

At CERN, sustainability is a holistic commitment that builds Environmental (E), Social (S), and Governance (G) considerations into all our activities. Our Environment (E) pillar is anchored in environmentally responsible research which guides our efforts to minimise environmental impact while advancing scientific excellence. The Sustainability Office will further integrate the S and G pillars through dedicated actions building on our Policy Commitments, a comprehensive framework that underpins the Organization’s commitment to ethics and integrity.

Together, these pillars form a cohesive policy foundation, ensuring that our scientific mission aligns with responsible practices for people, the planet, and ethical governance.
